Phexin belongs to the Cephalosporin Antibacterials class of medicines. Cephalosporin antibacterials are an antibiotic class of medicines which are used to treat bacterial infections such as kidney and urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, and skin infections.

Warnings: Do not take Phexin Drops 10 ml if you have porphyria (hereditary metabolic disorder). Before starting Phexin Drops 10 ml, please inform your doctor if you have any allergy (against any antibiotic), kidney or liver problems. Consult your doctor if you experience skin rash or prolonged, significant diarrhea with abdominal pains. Talk to your doctor before taking Phexin Drops 10 ml if you have/had inflammation of the intestine. Long-term usage of Phexin Drops 10 ml may lead to interaction with resistant bacteria and fungi. Avoid taking Phexin Drops 10 ml if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by a doctor. Phexin Drops 10 ml should not be given to children below 5 years.

Laboratory or Diagnostic Testing
Phexin Drops interacts with interaction with laboratory or diagnostic testing. A false-positive reaction may take place when testing is done for the presence of glucose in the urine using a solution. The solution which is used to detect the presence of reducing sugars (Fehling’s solution or Benedict’s solution).
Uricosurics
There may be an interaction of Phexin with uricosurics (probenecid), which is used to lower high levels of uric acid in the urine. The kidney excretion of Phexin is blocked by probenecid. The combined use of probenecid with Phexin is not recommended.
