Warnings: Before starting MONOCEF 1g INJECTION, please inform your doctor if you have any allergy (against any antibiotic), kidney or liver problems. Do not take MONOCEF 1g INJECTION on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic-resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections. Talk to your doctor before taking MONOCEF 1g INJECTION if you have/had received calcium-containing products recently, had diarrhoea after taking antibiotics, inflammation of the bowel, kidney stones, or any other illness. Do not take antacids along with MONOCEF 1g INJECTION; maintain a gap of 2-3 hours between both. Avoid taking MONOCEF 1g INJECTION if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by a doctor. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking MONOCEF 1g INJECTION to prevent unpleasant side-effects. MONOCEF 1g INJECTION may cause dizziness, so be cautious while driving. Inform your doctor about all the medicines you are taking and about your health condition to rule out any unpleasant side-effects.
Medicine Interaction: MONOCEF 1g INJECTION may have interaction with a diuretic (furosemide), and antibiotic (chloramphenicol).
Side Effects: Irritation where the shot is given. - Upset stomach or throwing up. Many small meals, good mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help. - Loose stools (diarrhea). Yogurt or probiotics may help. You may get these products at health food stores or in some pharmacies. - For women, vaginal yeast infection. Report itching or discharge.
