Xone is used to treat bacterial infections in many different parts of the body. Xone is also given before certain types of surgery to prevent infections.
Xone belongs to the class of medicines known as cephalosporin antibiotics. It works by killing bacteria or preventing their growth. However, Xone will not work for colds, flu, or other virus infections.
Xone is available only with your doctor’s prescription.

Warnings: Before starting XONE INJECTION VIAL DRY 1GM, please inform your doctor if you have any allergy (against any antibiotic), kidney or liver problems. Do not take XONE INJECTION VIAL DRY 1GM on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic-resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections. Talk to your doctor before taking XONE INJECTION VIAL DRY 1GM if you have/had received calcium-containing products recently, had diarrhoea after taking antibiotics, inflammation of the bowel, kidney stones, or any other illness. Do not take antacids along with XONE INJECTION VIAL DRY 1GM; maintain a gap of 2-3 hours between both. Avoid taking XONE INJECTION VIAL DRY 1GM if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by a doctor. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking XONE INJECTION VIAL DRY 1GM to prevent unpleasant side-effects. XONE INJECTION VIAL DRY 1GM may cause dizziness, so be cautious while driving. Inform your doctor about all the medicines you are taking and about your health condition to rule out any unpleasant side-effects.
Medicine Interaction: XONE INJECTION VIAL DRY 1GM may have interaction with a diuretic (furosemide), and antibiotic (chloramphenicol).

Side Effects: Signs of an allergic reaction to Xone: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Call your doctor at once if you have: a seizure (convulsions), severe stomach pain, diarrhea that is watery or bloody, sudden weakness or ill feeling, fever, chills, cold or flu symptoms, mouth sores, pale or yellowed skin, dark colored urine, severe pain in your upper stomach that comes and goes or spreads to your back, a blood cell disorder--skin rash or tight feeling, severe tingling or numbness, pain, muscle weakness, kidney or bladder problems--pain in your side or lower back spreading to your groin, blood in your urine, painful or difficult urination, little or no urine or severe skin reaction--fever, sore throat, swelling in your face or tongue, burning in your eyes, skin pain followed by a red or purple skin rash that spreads (especially in the face or upper body) and causes blistering and peeling. Common Xone side effects may include: mild diarrhea, warmth, tight feeling, or a hard lump where the Injection was given, vaginal itching or discharge, rash or abnormal liver function tests.
