Pregabalin Capsules
Product Features:-
Dosage: 50mg
Packaging:
Therapy: Anticonvulsant
Active Ingredients: Pregabalin
Product Information:-
General Information:
These capsules act as an antiepileptic or anticonvulsant agent to bind all the calcium channels together. These calcium channels are particularly seen on the nerve cells in the brain as well as the spinal cord. When this binding takes place, it inhibits the release of neurotransmitters which are responsible for transmission of messages between the nerve cells of the brain and the spinal cord. Pregabalin minimises the release of various transmitters like glutamate, substance P and noradrenaline. The chief function of glutamate is to act as a nerve exciting agent while substance P, noradrenaline and glutamate are responsible for sending across pain signals to higher centres in the brain. While this medication prevents the neurotransmitter from performing its function, it helps in treating anxiety disorders, pains and other similar conditions in the body. These capsules are not highly metabolised however, its metabolism does occur through methylation in a very small quantity. Finally, Pregabalin is removed from the body through the renal system in the form of urine.
