Herpex Cream is used for Skin infection, Genital herpes, Chicken pox, Herpes simplex virus infections and other conditions. Herpex Cream may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Herpex Cream contains Acyclovir Topical as an Active ingredient.
Herpex Cream works by relieving the pain and discomfort.

Warnings: Do not take Herpex 5% Cream 5 gm if you are allergic to Herpex 5% Cream 5 gm or any of its ingredients. Inform your doctor about all other OTC medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking or plan to take. If you are 65 years of age or have kidney disease or kidney transplant, heart problem or history of heart problem, have HIV/AIDS, are pregnant, or plan to become pregnant, Herpex 5% Cream 5 gm should be taken with caution and only if a doctor prescribes you. Herpex 5% Cream 5 gm may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, and fainting when you get up too quickly from a lying position, especially when you start taking Herpex 5% Cream 5 gm so please get up gradually. Also, do not drive a car or operate any machinery which requires concentration as Herpex 5% Cream 5 gm may cause dizziness. Please do not take Herpex 5% Cream 5 gm if you have ever developed a rash due to fever. Use protection while having sexual intercourse to avoid the transfer of genital herpes (a sexually transmitted disease) to your partner. If you have a weak immune system, please inform your doctor before taking Herpex 5% Cream 5 gm as a dose adjustment may be required. Drink plenty of fluid as Herpex 5% Cream 5 gm can cause dehydration and kidney damage.
Side Effects: The following is a list of possible side-effects that may occur from all constituting ingredients of Herpex Cream. This is not a comprehensive list. These side-effects are possible, but do not always occur. Some of the side-effects may be rare but serious. Consult your doctor if you observe any of the following side-effects, especially if they do not go away. Itching Redness Swelling Burning Stinging of skin Herpex Cream may also cause side-effects not listed here.
How to Store it: Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 C.
Over Dose: Symptoms may include dizziness or light-headedness; fast or difficult breathing; feeling of being unusually cold; general feeling of being unwell; muscle pain or tenderness; slow or irregular heartbeat; unusual drowsiness; unusual stomach discomfort; unusual weakness or tiredness.
Precautions: Before using Herpex Cream, inform your doctor about your current list of medications, over the counter products (e.g. vitamins, herbal supplements, etc.), allergies, pre-existing diseases, and current health conditions (e.g. pregnancy, upcoming surgery, etc.). Some health conditions may make you more susceptible to the side-effects of the drug. Take as directed by your doctor or follow the direction printed on the product insert. Dosage is based on your condition. Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens. Important counseling points are listed below. keep the medicine out of the reach of children wash the hands with soap and water before and after the use do not take by mouth. Consult with your doctor before using this medicine on open wounds, dry, chapped, irritated, or sun-burned skin. wash your hands before and after applying Herpex Cream. Clean and dry the skin area to be treated. do not wash the treated area after immediately applying Herpex Cream. Also avoid the use of other products on the treated area unless directed by your doctor. applying an excessive amount may result in pilling. Use a thinner layer or lesser quantity of medicine to avoid pilling. avoid getting this medication in your eyes or nose or mouth.
Missed Dose: In case you miss a dose, use it as soon as you notice. If it is close to the time of your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your dosing schedule. Do not use extra dose to make up for a missed dose. If you are regularly missing doses, consider setting an alarm or asking a family member to remind you. Please consult your doctor to discuss changes in your dosing schedule or a new schedule to make up for missed doses, if you have missed too many doses recently.
