Deriva Cms Gel is used for Acne, Pimples, Severe acne on face, Acne vulgaris, Spots, Keratosis pilaris, Blackheads, Mild to moderate acne, Skin and skin structure infections, Papules and other conditions. Deriva Cms Gel may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Deriva Cms Gel contains Adapalene Topical and Clindamycin Topical as Active ingredients.
Deriva Cms Gel works by lowering the microcomedone formation; treating the acne and keratosis pilaris; reducing the pustule and papule counts in acne;

Warnings: If you are known to be allergic to Deriva Cms Gel 15 gm or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Do not apply Deriva Cms Gel 15 gm on cuts, open wounds, scrapes, sunburned, windburned, chapped, dry or irritated skin. Deriva Cms Gel 15 gm is only for external use. Do not swallow Deriva Cms Gel 15 gm. In case of accidental swallowing, please consult a doctor. Avoid contact of Deriva Cms Gel 15 gm with nose, ears, mouth or eyes. In case Deriva Cms Gel 15 gm comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with warm water thoroughly. Avoid exposure to tanning beds or sunlight while using Deriva Cms Gel 15 gm as it may make the skin more sensitive to sunlight and cause sunburn. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen while going out to protect your skin from sunburn. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before taking Deriva Cms Gel 15 gm. Do not apply Deriva Cms Gel 15 gm in large amounts or use for a long time than prescribed as it does not give quick or better results but increases the risk of side effects such as irritation, scaling or redness of the skin. If you have eczema (itchy, swollen, rough and cracked skin) or sunburned skin, please inform your doctor before taking Deriva Cms Gel 15 gm.
Medicine Interaction: If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Deriva Cms Gel may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Deriva Cms Gel may interact with the following drugs and products: Abrasive soaps and cleansers Alcohol-containing preparations Astringents
Side Effects: The following is a list of possible side-effects that may occur from all constituting ingredients of Deriva Cms Gel. This is not a comprehensive list. These side-effects are possible, but do not always occur. Some of the side-effects may be rare but serious. Consult your doctor if you observe any of the following side-effects, especially if they do not go away. Burning Dryness Acne Scaly skin or lips Dry skin Itching Scaling Drying Diadrrhea Skin burning sensations Face Skin irritation Local skin irritation Skin itching Erythema Diarrhoea Deriva Cms Gel may also cause side-effects not listed here.
How to Store it: Store below 25C. Do not freeze.
Over Dose: Symptoms may include dizziness or light-headedness; fast or difficult breathing; feeling of being unusually cold; general feeling of being unwell; muscle pain or tenderness; slow or irregular heartbeat; unusual drowsiness; unusual stomach discomfort; unusual weakness or tiredness.
Precautions: Before using Deriva Cms Gel, inform your doctor about your current list of medications, over the counter products (e.g. vitamins, herbal supplements, etc.), allergies, pre-existing diseases, and current health conditions (e.g. pregnancy, upcoming surgery, etc.). Some health conditions may make you more susceptible to the side-effects of the drug. Take as directed by your doctor or follow the direction printed on the product insert. Dosage is based on your condition. Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens. Important counseling points are listed below. avoid contact with mucous membranes, lips, eyes and eyelids avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes avoid exposure to sunlight avoid waxing use a sunscreen and avoid unnecessary sun exposure do not take by mouth. Consult with your doctor before using this medicine on open wounds, dry, chapped, irritated, or sun-burned skin. wash your hands before and after applying Deriva Cms Gel. Clean and dry the skin area to be treated. do not wash the treated area after immediately applying Deriva Cms Gel. Also avoid the use of other products on the treated area unless directed by your doctor. applying an excessive amount may result in pilling. Use a thinner layer or lesser quantity of medicine to avoid pilling. avoid getting this medication in your eyes or nose or mouth.
Missed Dose: In case you miss a dose, use it as soon as you notice. If it is close to the time of your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your dosing schedule. Do not use extra dose to make up for a missed dose. If you are regularly missing doses, consider setting an alarm or asking a family member to remind you. Please consult your doctor to discuss changes in your dosing schedule or a new schedule to make up for missed doses, if you have missed too many doses recently.
