Podox CV 50 mg/31.25 mg Dry Syrup is a potent antibiotic made up of two active medications. It is given to children to treat a wide range of severe bacterial infections targeting the ear, throat, lungs, skin, and urinary tract. It works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria thereby preventing the infection spread.
Give this medication to your child an hour before or two hours after meals. If your child develops a stomach upset, prefer giving it with food. Make sure to stick to the recommended dose because it is given keeping in mind the type of infection, its severity, and the age and bodyweight of your child. In case your child gags and expels the medication within 30 mins of intake, repeat the same dose but do not double dose if it’s the time for the next dose.
Some of the minor and temporary side effects of this medication include vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, rash, and headache. Usually, these episodes subside once your child’s body adapts to the medication. However, if these effects persist or become bothersome for your child, call the doctor right away.

Pregnancy Interaction: Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Dissolve the powder in sterile water. Shake well and use. Podox CV 50mg/31.25mg Dry Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Breast Feeding Interaction: Podox CV 50mg/31.25mg Dry Syrup is a combination of two medicines: Cefpodoxime and Clavulanic Acid. Cefpodoxime is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Cefpodoxime against bacteria.
