Ciclopirox is an antifungal medication. Nailrox prevents fungus from growing.
Nailrox (for the skin) cream, gel, and lotion formulations are used to treat skin infections such as athlete’s foot, jock itch, ringworm, and yeast infections.
Ciclopirox shampoo is used to treat seborrheic dermatitis (inflammatory skin condition) of the scalp.
Ciclopirox nail lacquer is used to treat fungal infections of the toenails and fingernails.
Nailrox may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Warnings: Inform your doctor if the skin infection doesn’t improve or worsen after the course of treatment. Do not apply any cosmetic products on the infected skin unless advised by your doctor. Also, it is not advised to use in large areas of open skin lesions. Do not use Nailrox 1%W/W Cream 20g in children without proper medical advice. Nailrox 1%W/W Cream 20g shampoo and gel are not approved for use in children younger than 16 years old. Nailrox 1%W/W Cream 20g nail lacquer is not approved for use in children below 12 years old, and Nailrox 1%W/W Cream 20g cream and lotion are not approved for use in children below 10 years old. Before taking Nailrox 1%W/W Cream 20g, inform your doctor if you have diabetes, seizure disorder, or if you are taking any steroid medications. Stop using Nailrox 1%W/W Cream 20g and contact your doctor immediately if you notice unusual or severe itching, redness, burning, and discolouration, or other changes in the nails.
Medicine Interaction: Nailrox 1%W/W Cream 20g may interact with the inhaled or topical steroid medicine and seizure medications.
Side Effects: Signs of an allergic reaction to Nailrox: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Stop using this medicine and call your doctor at once if you have: unusual or severe itching, redness, burning, dryness, or irritation of treated skin or discoloration or other changes in the nails. Common Nailrox side effects may include: mild burning, itching, or redness.
