Zoxan Eye Ointment 5gm belongs to the therapeutic classification of Quinolones, Anti-Infectives and Ophthalmic Agents, Anti-Infectives and Ear Medications. The primary composition for this medicine is Ciprofloxacin 0.3 %W/W.

Warnings: Do not take ZOXAN DROPS 5ML if you are allergic or have had a severe reaction to ciprofloxacin or any other quinolone or fluoroquinolone antibiotic such as delafloxacin gemifloxacin, levofloxacin, moxifloxacin and ofloxacin. Taking ZOXAN DROPS 5ML may increase the chances of developing tendinitis (swelling of a fibrous tissue that connects a bone to a muscle) or have a tendon rupture (tearing of a fibrous tissue that connects a bone to a muscle). Inform your doctor if you have or have ever had a kidney, heart, or lung transplant, kidney disease, a joint or tendon disorder such as rheumatoid arthritis (auto immune disorder of joints causing pain, swelling, and loss of function), seizures (fits), epilepsy or if you participate in regular physical Activity. Taking ZOXAN DROPS 5ML may worsen muscle weakness in people with myasthenia gravis (a disorder of the nervous system that causes muscle weakness) and cause severe difficulty breathing or death. Dairy products should be avoided along with ZOXAN DROPS 5ML. And also, exposure to sunlight should be avoided while taking ZOXAN DROPS 5ML as it may cause increased phototoxicity or photosensitivity. Patients with epilepsy, and irregular heartbeat (especially a condition known as QT prolongation) should tell their doctor before taking ZOXAN DROPS 5ML.
Medicine Interaction: If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Zoxan Eye/Ear Drops may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Zoxan Eye/Ear Drops may interact with the following drugs and products: Antacids Caffeine Class IA or III Antiarrhythmics Clozapine Cyclosporine Didanosine Duloxetine Glyburide Lanthanum carbonate Lidocaine

Side Effects: Belly pain. Upset stomach or throwing up. Many small meals, good mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help. Loose stools (diarrhea). Yogurt or probiotics may help. You may get these products at health food stores or in some pharmacies. Tendons may rarely get irritated and tear. Unsafe allergic effects may rarely happen.
