Product Uses: Zoxan-500 Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections of the skin, soft tissues, bone and joints. It is a prescription medicine. Zoxan-500 is also used to treat various respiratory tract infections including bronchitis and sinus. It is also used to treat bacterial infections in other parts of the body including, urinary tract infections, kidneys, stomach, intestines, and ears. Zoxan-500 is also used to treat sexually transmitted infections, such as, gonorrhoea. Zoxan-500 is also used to treat typhoid fever and infectious diarrhea. Zoxan-500 Tablet is also used to treat certain potentially fatal infectious diseases, including, anthrax and plague. Zoxan-500 Tablet may also be taken in combination with other medicines to treat certain conditions as recommended by the doctor. Zoxan-500 Tablet is used together with Metronidazole to treat bacterial infections of the abdomen.

Zoxan is used to treat bacterial infections in many different parts of the body. Zoxan oral liquid and tablets are also used to treat anthrax infection after inhalational exposure. Zoxan may mask or delay the symptoms of syphilis. It is not effective against syphilis infections.
Zoxan extended-release tablets are only used to treat urinary tract infections, including acute uncomplicated pyelonephritis.
Proquin XR tablets are only used to treat uncomplicated or simple urinary tract infections (acute cystitis).
Zoxan belongs to the class of drugs known as quinolone antibiotics. It works by killing bacteria or preventing their growth. However, Zoxan will not work for colds, flu, or other virus infections.
Zoxan is available only with your doctor’s prescription.

Warnings: Do not take Zoxan 500 Tablet 10's if you are allergic or have had a severe reaction to ciprofloxacin or any other quinolone or fluoroquinolone antibiotic such as delafloxacin gemifloxacin, levofloxacin, moxifloxacin and ofloxacin. Taking Zoxan 500 Tablet 10's may increase the chances of developing tendinitis (swelling of a fibrous tissue that connects a bone to a muscle) or have a tendon rupture (tearing of a fibrous tissue that connects a bone to a muscle). Inform your doctor if you have or have ever had a kidney, heart, or lung transplant, kidney disease, a joint or tendon disorder such as rheumatoid arthritis (auto immune disorder of joints causing pain, swelling, and loss of function), seizures (fits), epilepsy or if you participate in regular physical Activity. Taking Zoxan 500 Tablet 10's may worsen muscle weakness in people with myasthenia gravis (a disorder of the nervous system that causes muscle weakness) and cause severe difficulty breathing or death. Dairy products should be avoided along with Zoxan 500 Tablet 10's. And also, exposure to sunlight should be avoided while taking Zoxan 500 Tablet 10's as it may cause increased phototoxicity or photosensitivity. Patients with epilepsy, and irregular heartbeat (especially a condition known as QT prolongation) should tell their doctor before taking Zoxan 500 Tablet 10's.
Medicine Interaction: This medicine may have an interaction with blood thinners (such as warfarin), antidepressants and antipsychotics (like clozapine, olanzapine), caffeine containing medications, insulin or other anti diabetic medications (like chlorpropamide, glimepiride, glipizide, glyburide, tolazamide, and tolbutamide), medications for regulating irregular heartbeat (like amiodarone, disopyramide, procainamide, quinidine), pain killers (like ibuprofen and naproxen).
Side Effects: Signs of an allergic reaction to Zoxan: hives, or the first sign of a skin rash, fast heartbeat, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Zoxan may cause swelling or tearing of (rupture) a tendon. Zoxan can also have serious effects on your nerves, and may cause permanent nerve damage. Stop using Zoxan and call your doctor at once if you have: severe stomach pain, diarrhea that is watery or bloody, headache with chest pain and severe dizziness, fainting, fast or pounding heartbeats, muscle pain or weakness, a seizure (convulsions), signs of tendon rupture - sudden pain, swelling, bruising, tenderness, stiffness, movement problems, or a snapping or popping sound in any of your joints (rest the joint until you receive medical care or instructions), nerve symptoms - numbness, weakness, tingling, burning, pain, or being more sensitive to temperature, light touch, or the sense of your body position, changes in mood or behavior - depression, confusion, hallucinations, paranoia, tremors, feeling restless or anxious, unusual thoughts or behavior, insomnia, nightmares, liver problems - upper stomach pain, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), increased pressure inside the skull - severe headaches, ringing in your ears, vision problems, pain behind your eyes or severe skin reaction - skin pain followed by a red or purple skin rash that spreads (especially in the face or upper body) and causes blistering and peeling. Common Zoxan side effects may include: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rash or abnormal liver function tests.
